Jennifer and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day

I have no picture to share today because I basically have not been in the picture taking mood for a few days now. Nothing seems to be going my way. But what else is new, right? More of the monsoon coming down on me.

First of all it is likely that I will not have a teaching job next year. So what do I do? All I've ever wanted to do is teach school. I stood at the white board today thinking, Wow! I've been doing this since I was in first grade. I'm ready for my own classroom full of little minds to mold. Then, it hit me like a ton of bricks, the words I never wanted to hear, "Jennifer, you will not have a job next year." This statement was followed by a false sense of hope that nothing is written in stone right now. Should I take a job that pays less than half of what I would be paid as a teacher? Do I look into another line of work? How will I survive another year?

These frustrations were taken even further when I got home and low and behold, the low life that hit me, or as the Police Report said, I hit her, has filed a claim on my insurance. Really?! Your car is rusted, your bumper is bent to pieces barely hanging on, the colors of all the parts of your car seem to be different, and you want my insurance to fix a scrape that is not as bad as the scrape on my car? My brand new 2008 Scion TC. Really?! We are living in the world of people wanting something for nothing. Does she think that she is going to get a new car out of this? The age of Obama...taking this country to hell in a handbasket.

I seem to have the worst luck.

Once again, this is my not so wonderful life.

Slacked off a bit...Now I'm catching up

Hello Virtual World! Long time no type! I've been meaning to update my blog. I really, truly have. I hope all of my virtual viewers out there can forgive me for leaving you hanging with the goings on in my life. I know you are sitting on pins and needles to find out what I've been up to this week. So the wait is over...here goes...

Amber made my day on Thursday with her outfit. She made me giggle! Plaid and Stripes...who does this? Amber! I even took a picture to share with all of you! It reminds me of the days when my mom dressed me in stripes and polka dots...it's just wrong to mix patterns like this. You can't tell in the picture, but she actually has plaid earrings on, too. Go ahead, you all may laugh out loud. I know I did! Seeing Amber walking down the hall, you are guaranteed a smile, no matter how bad your day may have been! Thanks, Amber!

Friday, I had a Thirty-One party. For those of you who don't know, I sell Thirty-One products. It's an amazing company to work for. I earn my extra money by partying! How do you earn yours? Want to join my team to make a few extra bucks? Let me know! You can check out my website to view our products, customer specials, or hostess specials. www.mythirtyone.com/jenniferpearce My party was great. I love going to my Thirty-One parties. It gives me a chance to socialize with adults and meet new people. You don't have to live around here to have a party either! I can send you a hostess packet and you can have a catalog party. By being a hostess, you can take advantage of the month's hostess special, you can earn FREE items, and you can earn half price items!

For hosting a $500 party (which is really easy to do!) The hostess can get the Cindy Tote (Retail Value of $68) for only $34, the Weekender Tote (Retail Value of $72) for only $36, and the Super Sassy Sac (Retail Value of $54) for only $27. Then, on top of all those awesome savings...the hostess can get the Large Utility Tote (Retail Value of $29.50), the Thermal Tote (Retai Value of $14), the Wristlet Wallet (Retail Value of $10), the Zipper Pouch (Retail Value of ($12), and the Coin Purse (Retail Value of $10) for FREE!!! All of these great products would only cost the hostess $97.50 plus tax; whereas, the retail value is $269.50 plus tax and shipping! Check out this picture of all the stuff you could get!

Now that I have given you all my Thirty-One spill...on to other things in my life...
This was my first week taking over for a teacher that had her baby on Monday. Andrew was born Monday at about 4:30PM. He weighed 8 lbs. 15 oz. and was 21 inches long. I went to visit Michelle yesterday to fill her in on grades and plans and all that other teacher jargin. However, the real reason I was there was to see precious little Andrew. He really is a doll. For those of you that know me, I have not been around babies too much. The last baby to be born into my family was when I was about 9 and some of my friends are just now starting families. Anywho...Michelle joked about me needing to change his diaper since I have NEVER changed a baby's diaper in my life. I'd like to keep it that way for a little while, at least. So, I graciously declined the offer. I did watch, so I did get a lesson on changing a little boy's diaper. You definitely have to watch out for that fountain! Andrew does not like to be naked so as soon as Michelle undressed his bottom, he started crying. As soon as she got his footsies back into his little outfit, he calmed right back down. Then, we went out on the deck so she could give him his bottle in the nice, warm sun. After the bottle was empty (he's definitely a healthy eater), Michelle handed him over to me. Ahhhh! Holding a new born! Andrew and I sat in the sun together for I know at least 30 minutes. But, to tell you the truth, I think I could have sat there forever. His soft baby skin and baby smell is like heaven. I am ready for Stephanie, a close friend of mine, to have Clifton Davis! She is due May 3rd. I might, just might, practice my diaper changing skills on that little guy! We'll see, I'm not promising anything!

After spending time with Andrew, I went to Greenwood and checked out Burkes Outlet, a new store that moved into the old Goodies building. I didn't get to spend as much time as I would have liked in there because I spent so much time with Andrew, but that's ok! I found some cute coasters with a P on them for outside on our deck for the summertime!

After my short venture into Greenwood, I made my way to Calhoun Falls for a Thirty-One team meeting. My GPS (Her name is Gigi, just fyi) kept telling me to turn on these roads that did not look like roads at all, they looked like someone's gravel driveway. So, I refused to turn down these roads, which upsets Gigi and she begins her "Recalculating..." routine. Anywho...I got on a road that was a road and she told me that I had arrived at my destination, but the house did not look like the house we should be meeting at. I was thankful to have cell phone service out in the middle of nowhere! So, I called Ashley, who had no idea where she was going either, but she did have Kayla's phone number, this is the girl that's hose we were going to. I called Kayla and she got me back on the right track and I made it to the meeting not too terribly late.

Later today, my plans are to go to Nicole's house, see my babies (Emily and Connor), and do some clogging! We learned the first part of our dance Wednesday, now we need to practice so we'll have it down by this coming Wednesday so we can learn more of our dance. Our song is Southern Voices by Tim McGraw. LOVE IT!

I'm hoping not to stay away as long next time...

This is my wonderful life.

Day 13

I'm not sure how to describe today in a nice way. For those of you that know me personally, you know the story behind what went on today. Back in October 2005, there was an unfortunate incident, in which I will not discuss in detail because this post would never end, that occurred that resulted in my brother spending a couple hours on the other side of the law. Of course, for those of you that know the details, the reasons behind the accusations are ridiculous. So, after over four years, our attorney filed a motion to dismiss the case. Today, that motion was denied and we were informed that this could go on even longer. How disappointing and aggravating.

So many things have happened since that day in October. At the time of the incident, Michael was still healing from his injuries from a serious boating accident that occurred in August 2005. My daddy has since unexpectedly passed away, this was in June 2007. We moved from our beautiful, picturesque lake house on Lake Greenwood to the quiet and serene surroundings of woods in a small town known as Plum Branch. We closed our family owned Hardware store, which we had owned for about 5 years, in McCormick. I graduated from Lander University with my Bachelor's Degree and started working on my Master's Degree through Walden University. Michael has started working on his Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. My Papaw (Daddy's Dad) passed away after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. Dusty (the dog in the center of this controversial incident) had to be put to sleep because he was in such tremendous pain that he could no longer stand. We've watched our hardware store be taken apart and sold piece by piece. Now, my uncle (Daddy's brother) has been in the hospital for over a week and we still aren't sure what's going on with him. My philosophy these days is "When it rains, it pours". I feel like I've been in a monsoon for almost five years now. When will the drought come?

Today's picture is of the courthouse in which we had to, unfortunately, visit this morning. What a way to spend a beautiful Friday of no school. Ugh.

The dreadful place.

Even though this post seems to be all about bad...not bad...but sad stuff, I do believe my life is wonderful and everything that has happened in my life has made me who I am today; therefore, I will continue to learn from each day's lessons.

Bring on tomorrow's lesson.

This is my wonderful life.

Day 8

The truckload of building materials for Michael's new bathroom in his building. Which means...He will be OUT of my bathroom! How wonderful will that day be? It will be AMAZING to have a bathroom all to myself for the first time in my life.

Day 7

Today, my toes escaped from the confines of my closed toe shoes (like my Danskos that I wear daily to school). When I woke this morning, the sun was shining through my window and I knew it would be a beautiful day. So, instead of putting socks and tennis shoes on, I dug my Rainbows out of my closet and slid them on my feet. What a wonderful, summer feeling. I'm so ready for some Spring weather to stick around. As the day progressed, the wind picked up and it got down right cold. So, my toes once again had to go back into hibernation in the cozy confines of my socks.

My feet in the brief moment of freedom.

Toodles til Tomorrow!

Day 5

I've made it to Day 5 of the Project 365. Only 360 days left. I can do this.

So, I was cleaning out my purse that I carried this past weekend to Anderson to visit Kayla. While digging through all the junk that I have collected, I found my Bingo stuff. I told the virtual world about my first Bingo experience in Day 1's post. Now you can see what it looked like. We played most of the games on a computer-type machine that you just punch the numbers in and the computer searches through 90 cards to see if you have it. Then, it tells you if you have Bingo and all you have to do is yell, "BINGO!" As an addition to the computer games, they sold separate games on the floor. That's what these cards are. My Bingo marker is also there. I bought it for $1 out of the vending machine.

I have found a new love for live action Bingo! I'm currently in search of a Bingo Parlor in Augusta, GA, so I can go again sometime soon. We shall see if my search is successful. If any of you virtual viewers out there know of any or have any recommendations, I'm all ears.

Adios, folks!

This is my wonderful life.

Day 1

I announced that I would be starting my Project 365 today. Well, that makes today Day 1. I would like to combine yesterday with today because I have taken numerous pictures the last couple of days that I would like to share with the virtual world.

Saturday, March 6, 2010

Today was a special day in which I was to go wedding dress shopping with my BFF, Kayla. (Side note: She is getting married June 12, 2010 and I'm the Maid of Honor {The MOH, if you will}) We started the day at David's Bridal trying on numerous wedding dresses. We didn't find one that we just fell in love with, so, of course, we did not make a purchase yesterday. However, one successful thing did come out of our trip to David's Bridal. Kayla decided on the Bridesmaid dress! I tried it on and I love it, so that's a plus. The day concluded with a friendly game of BINGO at the neighborhood Bingo parlor, Pop's. For me, this was my first time ever playing Bingo live at a Bingo parlor, so I needed lots of coaching (just ask Kayla). Our goal was to win the Coverall, which was $1000. Despite our best efforts, our goal did not pan out. However, we did win $100! Better than nothing.

Sunday, March 7, 2010 (Offcially Day 1 of Project 365)

This morning was absolutely perfect. It was not too cold, not too hot, but just right. Ok Goldilocks...get on with it. So, the weather was perfect for a stroll through the woods with my camera. Of course, I couldn't take a stroll alone, so my baby, who you will hear a lot about and see a lot of pictures of I am sure, Lexi, went with me. Lexi is a seven year old dalmatian. So, we went in search of some beautiful wilderness photos. This is what we got...

I love nature.

The bridge near our house. The creek is actually running due to all the rain we have had lately. You can hear the pretty trinkling sounds of Spirng.

The first butterfly I have seen this year. HELLO SPRING!!!
