.013. reserved

I am reserving this for me to fill you in on today's happenings tomorrow. I'm too tired to type right now! See you tomorrow!

~UPDATE~

Ok...Saturday...I spent most of the day with my mom. We rode into town (McCormick) to go to Hobo Consignments and pick up the check for her junque she consigned. Then, I convinced her to go into a new little boutique in town that has women's clothing and accessories. I found a cute denim skirt and mom got some black capris. All in all, it was a successful trip. I took a picture of the store front to share with y'all.

Then, we came home and fiddled with the pond for a bit. We had to rearrange plants and clean filters and all that pond stuff. After that, we were nice and sweaty. We decided to take showers and head to Augusta to shop at the mall and eat at P.F. Changs (my favorite!). We didn't get home till late, but I rather enjoyed my Saturday.

I also got a picture of Dixie in her "wimmin' pool"
Ain't she adorable? :) Makes me smile.

On to the next update...

.012. nothin' like the smell of fresh cut grass

My mission for today was to simply get my paper done. As y'all may recall, last week my Friday was spent doing nothing but writing a paper, which left me feeling frazzled. I was expecting today to be much of the same; however, I was pleasantly surprised when I was totally finished with my paper by 1:30PM! That gave me the rest of the afternoon to actually enjoy SUMMER! So, I decided I was going to cut grass. Mind you, I have not cut grass since we lived at the lake and had a huge yard and I got to ride a nice riding mower. Well, we inherited a riding mower from my Papaw and this one seems to be a bit more complicated because I couldn't get the darn thing cranked. I called Michael at work for assistance, but he was no help because all he told me was that he was having trouble with it too and he needed to play with it. My plan was to cut his grass and ours. But...I had to resort to the push mower, so there was no way I was going to cut his couple acres with a push mower. So, I cut the grass around the house and felt very invigorated after I did. All by myself. I even got the lawn mower cranked by myself. I was very proud, to say the least. After I finished cutting the grass, I took a little break. Then, I cleaned out Dixie's kiddie pool because she looked miserably hot. As soon as I put clean, cold water in her yellow, plastic pool, she was in it. At first, she just stood there, but as the water began to rise, she would dunk her head getting all the way to her ears wet. I was trying to get her to roll over in it, but she looked at me like I was crazy.

My companion for the afternoon. We'll call him Mr. Lawn Mower.

My pedicured feet don't look so pedicured after cutting the grass in flip flops.

Maybe I can get some pictures of Dixie in her pool at some point.

Adios for now!

.011. "she put sprinkles on my toes!"

Today was Girls' Day! Nicole, Emily, and I made our way to Greenwood for much needed pedicures. I had originally decided to get my signature french tip, but Nicole inspired me to get hot pink! Then, on my big toes, I got Palmetto trees. Emily was so excited all the way to Greenwood, but when we got to VyVy Nails, she decided she didn't want her toe nails painted. After watching her momma and me get ours done, she decided that she would let the woman, not the man, paint her toes as long as the woman took her gloves off while she sat in her momma's lap. So, I took a picture of Nicole and Emily sitting in the kiddy pedicure chair, yes they have a chair just for kids! They like to start them young! When the lady was adding the finishing touches of sparkly nail polish on Emily's toes, Emily said, "Momma! She put sprinkles on my toes!" Love it!!

PS...I tell Nicole all the time that Emily gets her blonde hair from me!

.010. super

Tonight was Clogging night! I love Wednesdays, mostly because I love clogging! We are in the process of learning new steps to put into our next dance. Keeping our fingers crossed, hopefully we'll have two dances before Gold Rush in September. I think we can do it. So, tonight we learned a new combo. The crab, stomp heal step, 2 basics, toes, canadian, and a step similar to the high horse. Whew! It's a lot, let me tell you! So, anywho! Mamie, our teacher, said "Alright, let's put it all together! The one that gets it right on the first try will get a sticker! Hey! It works with the younger groups." FYI, the adult class is pretty competitive, so we all want to get it right! I don't typcally mess up, so she counts, "5, 6, 7, 8" and we start dancing! I do everything perfect, don't mess up! WOOHOO! So, Mamie gave me a sticker and like the obedient student that I am, I took it and placed it on my shirt proudly.

SUPER! :)

However, I did mess up tonight. I wanted to change the ending of another step in a different combo and Mamie said we would just overlook my little mistake since I never mess up! HA! I just love her!

All in all, today was a pretty good day.

Davis and I

The picture I have been telling y'all about for several weeks. Davis is much bigger now, but isn't he the most precious thing you have ever seen?

I think y'all can tell that I like to borrow other people's children. *smile* However, I always return them!

My lifelong friend, Rebecca, that lives too far away became an aunt today for the fourth time! Rebecca's brother, John, and his wife, Kimberly, welcomed their second child, a beautiful baby girl into the world today!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY HEIDI JEWELL!!

.009. my babies

Connor and Emily are absolutely dolls! They are my babies and I believe I would do just about anything for them. Today, I got to see them for a split second before they were out the door on their way to Bible School. Their daddy said Connor had been saying "Pier-iss" all afternoon. Makes me smile that those babies seem to love me as much as I love them. Miss Emily had got me some presents from their beach trip last week. I got a sea shell and a shot glass that says Jennifer. AND...Emily actually called me Miss Jennifer today. Maybe we can get on a first name basis eventually. So, I did take a picture of her with her pink cowgirl hat when she was in her car seat, but it's on my phone. So, I'm going to share a couple pictures I took of those babies at Relay for Life so y'all can see their precious faces!

This is the adorable Miss Emily! Just love her!

And this is Connor, as he says, "CHEEEEEEEEEESE!" Love it!

So these are my babies and would proudly claim them as my own! If Nicole (their mommy) is ever missing a kid...I think she would know where to find them! :)

These kids were the highlight of my day!

.008. Davis

I went to the big town of Abbeville today to visit Stephanie. She's the friend I told y'all about earlier that just had a baby. So, of course, my main reason for going was not to see Stephanie, but to see Davis. I have to report that Davis is a cutie patootie! Yes, he did pitch a royal fit (so cute!!) when I was there, but I made him happy for a few minutes with a bottle. Then, all afternoon, he didn't want to go to sleep. I think it's because he knew I had come to see him! Davis and I are just like that. One of these days maybe Stephanie can catch a breather and send me the adorable picture of me and Davis. I should have gotten one today, but I forgot my camera at home. Shame on me!

Stephanie and I then made our way to Greenwood for two reasons. One, we were on a mission to find something yellow to wear. Mrs. Rice's favorite color was yellow, so all of MES is going to wear yellow to her funeral tomorrow, but neither of us had anything yellow. And the second reason is for her visitation. It was nice to see my MES family, but it was terrible circumstances.

Tomorrow, the plan is to attend Mrs. Rice's funeral. My MES family will be meeting and visiting beforehand as we celebrate her life with a hotdog lunch. Then, we will say our final goodbyes.

After the funeral, I'm going to visit my favorite three year old and almost two year old in the whole wide world! Emily and Connor! I love those kids to pieces! I am Miss Pier-iss to them. I love it! Perhaps I'll get some pictures of those angels to share with y'all tomorrow!

Ta-ta for now!

This is my summer life.
